Description
The 1916 German East African 20 Heller coin has the following characteristics: weight of 11.5 g, diameter of 29 mm and a circulation of 300,000 pieces.
The obverse features a crown over the date “1916” and the letters “D.O.A.” (Deutsche Ost-Afrika), while the reverse bears the denomination “20 HELLER” surrounded by a garland. These coins were issued as emergency currency during the First World War.
