DTS to lead panel on responsible AI deployment at UN Open Source Week
Digital Transformation Solutions is proud to partner with UN Open Source Week, convened by the UN Office for Digital and Emerging Technologies and the UN Office of Information and Communications Technology, and to lead a featured panel at the United Nations in New York on 26 June 2026. The panel, "Deploying AI Responsibly: Hands-On Technical and Civic Strategy," brings together senior practitioners from financial supervision, technology, and government to examine what it actually takes to deploy AI in high-stakes public sector environments. The discussion will draw on hard-won implementation experience to explore what the digital transformation of financial supervision can teach other government sectors, and how open source can help public agencies build shared solutions rather than solving the same problems in isolation. Panellists include Matt Grasser, CTO & Co-Founder of Digital Transformation Solutions; Elizabeth McCaul, Advisor at DTS and former Member of the Supervisory Board of the European Central Bank; Atur Desai, Deputy Superintendent at the New York State Department of Financial Services; and Minerva Tantoco, CEO of City Strategies LLC and former CTO of New York City. The discussion will be moderated by Arun Gupta, Director of OS Ecosystem and Developer Platform at NVIDIA and Co-Lead of the UN Open Source Week Community Day AI Track; The panel takes place on 26 June, 2:20–3:20 PM, as part of UN Open Source Week (22–26 June, United Nations, New York). DTS publishes two-part research on SupTech-powered consumer and investor protection supervision
Digital Transformation Solutions has published two companion works on building AI-augmented supervisory capacity for consumer and investor protection: a research report and an implementation manual, both co-authored by Simone di Castri and Matt Grasser under the Cambridge SupTech Lab and co-published with the Cambridge Centre for Alternative Finance (CCAF) at Cambridge Judge Business School, University of Cambridge. The report, "SupTech-powered consumer and investor protection supervision: Architectural pathway from reactive oversight to outcome-driven institutional intelligence," draws on four years of longitudinal data covering 350 public authorities across 105 countries to diagnose the gap between suptech adoption and architectural integration. While 51% of authorities surveyed report active suptech applications in consumer and investor protection, only 37% of those with a formal mandate have deployed any application to a specific use case — and the report argues the constraint is not technology but institutional architecture. Most supervisory teams do not control their institution's data infrastructure; they inherit it. The report maps a pathway from isolated components — chatbots, dashboards, portals — to the integrated data pipelines that turn complaint and conduct signals into supervisory action, with a foreword by Magda Bianco, Director General for Consumer Protection and Financial Education at Banca d'Italia and Co-Chair of the G20 Global Partnership for Financial Inclusion. The companion manual, "The SupTech Blueprint: DataStack architecture for consumer and investor protection supervision," translates the report's diagnostic framework into a layer-by-layer implementation playbook, including design methods, workbook templates, and sequencing guidance for authorities ready to move from diagnosis to build. It is accompanied by an interactive dashboard and live database available at govspace.io/cips-dashboard. DTS kicks off Practical Data Science & SupTech Frontiers course with 40 students from 14 agencies
DTS has kicked off two new cohorts of the courses "SupTech Frontiers: Financial Supervision in the Age of AI" as well as "AI, Agents & Practical Data Science in Financial Supervision" with 40 students enrolled from 14 financial supervisory agencies. The courses are designed to build hands-on data science capabilities within supervisory institutions — covering data foundations, analytical tooling, machine learning applications for supervision, and the practical deployment of suptech solutions in regulatory workflows. Participants work through real-world case studies drawn from supervisory contexts and interact directly with the GovSpace platform throughout the programme. This cohort reflects the growing demand across the supervisory community for practitioner-level digital skills development, bringing together representatives from: - Banca d'Italia - Bank Negara Malaysia - Bank of Mauritius - Banque Centrale des États de l'Afrique de l'Ouest (BCEAO) - Capital Markets Authority Uganda - Central Bank of Nigeria - Financial Services Commission of the British Virgin Islands - Monetary Authority of Singapore - National Bank of Ethiopia - National Bank of Moldova - Non-Bank Financial Institutions Regulatory Authority Botswana (NBFIRA) - Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions Canada (OSFI) - Qatar Financial Centre Regulatory Authority (QFCRA) - Superintendencia de Banca, Seguros y AFPs del Peru Interested in joining a future cohort?
